Getting back into the swing of this, kinda...

Wow, when I took my little leave of absence for the whole sickness thing, I had no idea it would be so hard to get back into this. And it's not that I don't enjoy doing it (why else would I do it?), I just don't seem motivated to spend the time on it. These posts (the better ones anyway) typically take more time than you would ever think, and after getting used to not allotting time to do it, you'd be surprised at just how much it takes to get started again. I'm working on it though, so bare with me. I've toyed with the idea of changing my normal update day to Friday, thinking maybe that would help. So don't be surprised to see that happen, at least temporarily, in the near future.

So anyway, I'm going to give a quick Cliff's Notes version of what's been happening lately, and hopefully pick things back up at the end of this week.

One Year Down...

Last weekend (that would be the February 17) we had a birthday party for my nephew Allen. We took quite a few pictures, but not many turned out that great. You can see the whole collection here, but below are some highlights.

Here we see three generations of weird people.

Corey and Melissa got Allen this cool Cars cake. He, of course, is one-year-old, and couldn't have cared less.

Among other things, we got Allen these two super cool shirts...
...and this super-pimpin' Hummer!

And Finally...

Ever since I bought my bike, I've wanted the factory luggage that went with it. Unfortunately though, Honda is quite proud of said luggage, so I've held off. Until now, that is. I found a set on eBay that went really cheap. Of course, they were the wrong color (red) and were covered in stickers, but they DID go really cheap. When I received them, it turns out that the stickers doubled as Band Aids to cover a multitude of scratches, gouges, etc.

Amazingly though, in yet another way that Mike and I are different, Mike saw this as a great project. So, I took the stickers off, bought some spray paint, and dropped them off with Mike. Through the proper application of Bondo, Rustoleum, and magic, Mike has somehow turned them into the bags in the picture below. They turned out amazing, and I feel I am now obligated to dance at his next wedding.

"I'm not dead yet!"

I'm sorry for the absence lately. I've felt like crap! I've had some sort of chest infection. Christal claims it was pneumonia. All I know is that I've been through anti-biotics, numerous steroids (no playing for the MLB for a while!), breathing treatments, etc., and that I'm REALLY tired of coughing. Whatever it was seems to have finally broken free this weekend though, and other than the odd cough I seem to be on the way back to normal. Well, ok, I'm using "normal" as a relative term here. You get the point.
